FRIENDLY SOCIETIES

The Friendly Societies Act 1974 (Commencement) Order 1975

20th February 1975

The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 117(2) of the Friendly Societies Act 1974, hereby make the following Order:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Friendly Societies Act 1974 (Commencement) Order 1975.

2. The Friendly Societies Act 1974, so far as it is not already in force, shall come into operation on 1st April 1975.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Sections 112, 113, 115 and 117 of the Friendly Societies Act 1974, and so much of section 109 of the Act as relates to regulations under section 115, came into force on the passing of the Act on 31st July 1974. This Order brings the remainder of the Act into operation on 1st April 1975.
