Marriage (Wales) Act 1986

1986 CHAPTER 7

An Act to extend section 23 of the Marriage Act 1949 to Wales

[18th March 1986]

Be it enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Benefices held in plurality.

M1 Section 23 of the Marriage Act 1949 (benefices held in plurailty) shall extend to Wales with the omission of the words “under the Pastoral Reorganisation Measure, 1949,” and accordingly Schedule 6 to that Act (which specifies provisions of the Act which do not extend to Wales) shall be amended by the omission of the reference to that section.

2 Short title and citation.

(1) This Act may be cited as the Marriage (Wales) Act 1986.

(2) This Act and the Marriage Acts 1949 to 1983 may be cited together as the Marriage Acts 1949 to 1986.
