Continental Shelf Act 1989

1989 CHAPTER 35

An Act to amend section 3 of the Petroleum Royalties (Relief) and Continental Shelf Act 1989.

Be it enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Power to amend further designation order relating to continental shelf between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

(1) Section 3 of the Petroleum Royalties (Relief) and Continental Shelf Act 1989(which enables a certain designation order under the Continental Shelf Act 1964 to be amended to give effect to an Agreement between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland relating to the Shelf) shall have effect with the amendments specified in subsection (2) below.

(2) In subsection (2), after the word “amending” there shall be inserted the words the Continental Shelf (Designation of Additional Areas) Order 1971 and ” and for the words “an area” there shall be substituted the word “ areas ” .

2 Short title.

This Act may be cited as the Continental Shelf Act 1989.
