The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Secretary of State for Wales, acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2(c) of the Destructive Imported Animals Act 1932(1), as applied in relation to mink by the Mink Keeping Order 1992(2), and now vested in them(3), and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, and with the approval of the Treasury, hereby make the following Regulations:

Title and commencement _I1

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Mink (Keeping) (Amendment) Regulations 1997 and shall come into force on 1st January 1998.

Amendment of the principal Regulations _I2

2. The Mink (Keeping) Regulations 1975(4) shall be amended in regulation 5 by the substitution for paragraph (3) thereof (fee payable in respect of the granting of a licence in accordance with section 3 of the Act) of the following paragraph—

“(3) On the granting of a licence in accordance with section 3 of the Act or, as the case may be, section 8 of the Act, there shall be paid to the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Secretary of State for Wales or the Secretary of State for Scotland, as the case may be, the following fee—

(a)in the case of a licence granted in accordance with section 3 of the Act, £630; and

(b)in the case of a licence granted in accordance with section 8 of the Act—

(i)in England and Wales, £185; and

(ii)in Scotland, £60.”
