The Consular Fees (Amendment) Regulations 2000

The Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 1(3) of the Consular Fees Act 1980( 1 ), and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes, with the approval of the Treasury, the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Consular Fees (Amendment) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 8th May 2000.

2. The Consular Fees Regulations 1981( 2 ) shall be amended so that the following is substituted for Regulation 9:β€”

β€œ Application

9. β€”(1) Monies received in respect of fees shall be paid into the Consolidated Fund.

(2) For the purposes of paragraph (1), any monies received in foreign currency shall be converted into sterling in a manner authorised by the Secretary of State. ”
