The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 14(2) of the Protection of Children Act 1999( 1 ), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation

1. This Order may be cited as the Protection of Children Act 1999 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2000.

Appointed day

2. The day appointed for the coming into force of section 3(1) and (2) of the Protection of Children Act 1999 is 5th June 2000.
