The Distress for Rent (Amendment) Rules 2000

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 8 of the Law of Distress Amendment Act 1888( 1 ), and section 3 of the Law of Distress Amendment Act 1895( 2 ), hereby makes the following Rules:—

Citation and commencement

1. —(1) These Rules may be cited as the Distress for Rent (Amendment) Rules 2000 and shall come into force:

(a) as to rule 2(b), on 2nd January 2001; and

(b) as to the remainder of these Rules, on 3rd July 2000.

(2) In these Rules “the principal rules” means the Distress for Rent Rules 1988( 3 ).

Amendments to Distress for Rent Rules 1988

2. The following entries in Appendix 3 to the principal rules shall be deleted:—

(a) the entry relating to Lichfield; and

(b) the entry relating to Workington.

3. In question 8 of Form 3 (Application for Certificate to Levy Distress) in Appendix 2 to the principal rules, the words from “In support of your answer” to “your home address” shall be deleted.
