OFFSHORE INSTALLATIONS

The Offshore Installations (Safety Zones) Order 2000

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 22(1) and (2) of the Petroleum Act 1987( 1 ) (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following order:

Citation and commencement

1. This order may be cited as the Offshore Installations (Safety Zones) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 9th July 2000.

Establishment of safety zones

2. A safety zone is hereby established around each installation specified in column 1 of the Schedule hereto (being an installation stationed in waters to which subsection (7) of section 21 of the Act applies) having a radius of five hundred metres from the point as respects that installation which has the co-ordinates of latitude and longitude according to European Datum (1950) specified in columns 2 and 3 of the Schedule.

Removal of safety zone

3. In Schedule 1 to the Offshore Installations (Safety Zones) Order 1999( 2 ) the entry relating to Gryphon Field is deleted.

Amendment of the Offshore Installations (Safety Zones)(No.3) Order 1999

4. In the Schedule to the Offshore installations (Safety Zones)(No.3) Order 1999( 3 )—

(a) in the first entry relating to Balmoral Satellite Well, for the words “01°08'05"” in column (3) there shall be substituted the words “01°08'03"”;

(b) in the second entry relating to Balmoral Satellite Well—

(i) for the words “58°13'76"” in column (2) there shall be substituted the words “58°13'46"”;

(ii) for the words “01°05'25"” in column (3) there shall be substituted the words “01°05'15"”.
