Whereas a draft of this Order has been approved by resolution of each House of Parliament:

Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 1B(1) of the Ministerial and other Salaries Act 1975( 1 ) is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

Citation, commencement and effect

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Attorney General’s Salary Order 2000.

(2) This Order shall come into force on 13th July 2000.

(3) The change in salary in article 2 of this Order shall apply in respect of any period of a year beginning on or after 1st April 1999.

Attorney General’s Salary

2. For the annual amount of salary specified in Part III of Schedule 1 to the Ministerial and other Salaries Act 1975 in relation to the Attorney General there shall be substituted £87,585.
