The Secretary of State, in exercise of his powers under section 153(4) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990( 1 ), hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Financial Assistance for Environmental Purposes Order 2000 and shall come into force on 1st March 2000.

Variation of section 153(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990

2. In section 153(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990( 2 ) (purposes for which financial assistance may be given) for paragraph (bb) there shall be substituted—

(bb) the programme known as Radon Measurement and Support for Remedial Works Campaigns in England; .
