In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 3(3) and (9) of the Education (Schools) Act 1997( 1 ), the Secretary of State for Education and Employment hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation, commencement, extent and application
1. β(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Assisted Places) (Incidental Expenses) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2000, and shall come into force on 1st September 2000.
(2) These Regulations shall apply only in relation to England.
(3) These Regulations shall apply in relation to a school year beginning on or after the date that they come into force.
Amendment of the Education (Assisted Places) (Incidental Expenses) Regulations 1997
2. β(1)The Education (Assisted Places) (Incidental Expenses) Regulations 1997( 2 ) shall be amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 2(2) (clothing grant), for βΒ£11,466β there shall be substituted βΒ£11,718β.
(3) In regulation 2(3), for subparagraphs (a) and (b) there shall be substitutedβ
β (a) Β£71 where the relevant income does not exceed Β£10,901; and
(b) Β£37 where that income exceeds Β£10,901 but does not exceed Β£11,718. β .
(4) In regulation 4 (travel grant)β
(a) in paragraph (3), for βΒ£10,683β there shall be substituted βΒ£10,914β; and
(b) in paragraph (4)β
(i) for βΒ£10,683β there shall be substituted βΒ£10,914β; and
(ii) for βΒ£10,504β there shall be substituted βΒ£10,735β.
