In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 66(8) and 138(7) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998( 1 ) the Secretary of State for Education and Employment hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Exclusion from School) (Prescribed Periods) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 1st March 2000.

Amendment

2. In regulation 3(2)(c) of the Education (Exclusion from School) (Prescribed Periods) Regulations 1999( 2 ) (performance of governing body’s duties), in so far as it relates to England, for “30” there shall be substituted “50”.
