The Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) (Amendment) (England) Order 2000

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1, 7(1)(a), (b), (c) and (d), 7(2) and 23(f) and (g) of the Animal Health Act 1981( 1 ), and now vested in him( 2 ), makes the following Order—

Title, commencement and extent

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) (Amendment) (England) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 6th December 2000.

(2) This Order shall apply to England only.

Amendments to the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978

2. The Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978 ( 3 ) (“the 1978 Order”) shall be amended as follows—

(a) the entries listed in Schedule 1 to this Order shall be deleted from Schedule 1 to the 1978 Order;

(b) the entries listed in Schedule 2 to this Order shall be substituted for the corresponding entries in Schedule 1 to the 1978 Order;

(c) the entry listed in Schedule 3 to this Order shall be added to Schedule 1 to the 1978 Order; and

(d) the provisions of Schedule 4 to this Order shall be substituted for Schedule 2 to the 1978 Order.

See section 81 for a definition of “the Ministers”. In relation to England, the powers of “the Ministers” were transferred to the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food by the Transfer of Functions (Agriculture and Food Order 1999, S.I. 1999/3141 . In relation to Scotland, the powers of the Ministers had previously been transferred to the Scottish Ministers by section 53 of the Scotland Act 1998 ( 1998 c. 46) and, in relation to Wales, the powers of the Ministers had previously been transferred to the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the National Asembly for Wales acting jointly by article 2(a) of the National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999 ( S.I. 1999/672 ).
