The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

WHEREAS Her Majesty deems it expedient to modify the Northern Ireland Act 1998( 1 ) and to do so by Order in Council in pursuance of section 87(7) and (11) of that Act:

NOW, THEREFORE, Her Majesty, by virtue and in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 87(7) and (11) of the said Act and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased by and with the advice of Her Privy Council to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Northern Ireland Act 1998 (Modification) (No. 2) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 4th January 2001.

Modification of the Northern Ireland Act 1998

2. In subsection (6) of section 87 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 at the end there shall be added the following paragraph—

(o)the Child Support, Pensions and Social Security Act 2000 ( 2 ) and the Child Support, Pensions and Social Security Act (Northern Ireland) 2000 ( 3 ) .
