The Local Government Act 2000 (Commencement No. 5) Order 2000

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 108(5) and (7) of the Local Government Act 2000( 1 ) hereby makes the following Order:—

Citation and application

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 2000 (Commencement No. 5) Order 2000.

(2) This Order applies in relation to England and to police authorities in Wales.

Provisions coming into force on 19th December 2000

2. Sections 49 to 55, 57 to 67, 75 to 83 and 91 to 93 of, Schedule 4 to, and paragraphs 9 to 11, 14, 28 and 30 to 32 of Schedule 5 to, the Local Government Act 2000 shall come into force on 19th December 2000.
