LONDON GOVERNMENT

The Greater London Authority Act 1999 (Commencement No. 9) Order 2000

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 420(1) and 425 of the Greater London Authority Act 1999( 1 ) hereby makes the following Order:

Citation

1. This Order may be cited as the Greater London Authority Act 1999 (Commencement No. 9) Order 2000.

Commencement

2. Subject to the saving in article 3, the following provisions of the Greater London Authority Act 1999 shall come into force on 1st January 2001:β€”

(a) section 82(3), in so far as it is not already in force;

(b) section 423, in so far as it relates to the repeals in Part I of Schedule 34 relating to sections 39(1)(f) and 65(3) of the Local Government Finance Act 1992( 2 ).

Saving

3. Nothing in article 2 shall affect the status and functions as a major precepting authority of the Receiver for the Metropolitan Police District in respect of any financial year ending on or before 31st March 2001.
