The Social Security Benefits Up-rating and Miscellaneous Increases Regulations 2000

The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 30E(1), 122(1) and 175(1) to (4) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992( 1 ), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after agreement by the Social Security Advisory Committee that proposals in respect of these regulations should not be referred to it( 2 ), hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security Benefits Up-rating and Miscellaneous Increases Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 10th April 2000.

Amendment of the Social Security (Incapacity Benefit) Regulations 1994

2. In regulation 8 of the Social Security (Incapacity Benefit) Regulations 1994( 3 ) (limit of earnings from councillor’s allowance) for the sum of “£49.50” substitute the sum of “£58.50”.

Revocation

3. Regulation 5 of the Social Security Benefits Up-rating Regulations 1999( 4 ) is hereby revoked.
