The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of powers conferred by sections 175(1) and (2), 181(1) and 182(2) and (3) of the Pension Schemes Act 1993( 1 ) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, having consulted such persons as he considers appropriate( 2 ), hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation, commencement and interpretation
1. β(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Occupational and Personal Pension Schemes (Levy) Amendment Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 1st April 2000.
(2) In these Regulations, βthe principal Regulationsβ means the Occupational and Personal Pension Schemes (Levy) Regulations 1997( 3 ).
Amendment of regulation 2 of the principal Regulations
2. In regulation 2 of the principal Regulations (the general levy)β
(a) in paragraph (1), after the words βRegulatory Authorityβ insert the words βin connection with their functions in relation to occupational pension schemesβ; and
(b) in paragraph (2), after the words β1993 Actβ insert the words β and of the Regulatory Authority in connection with their functions in relation to personal pension schemesβ( 4 ).
Amendment of the Schedule to the principal Regulations
3. β(1) In Part I of the Schedule to the principal Regulations (amount of general levyβoccupational pension schemes)β
(a) in sub-paragraph (a) for βΒ£11.00β substitute βΒ£12.00 β;
(b) in sub-paragraph (b) for βΒ£1.20β substitute βΒ£1.25 β;
