The School Standards and Framework Act 1998 (Commencement No. 8 and Supplemental Provisions) Order 2001

6th March 2001

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 138(7) and (8) and 145(3) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998( 1 ), the Secretary of State for Education and Employment hereby makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 (Commencement No. 8 and Supplemental Provisions) Order 2001.

2. Section 115(2) and (3) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 shall come into force on 1st April 2001 in relation to England.

3. Requests by or on behalf of any registered pupil at a school for school lunches to be provided on or after 1st April 2001 may be made to a local education authority at any time after the making of this Order.
