The Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999 (Commencement No. 11) Order 2001

The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of powers conferred by section 89(1) of the Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999( 1 ), hereby makes the following Order:—

Citation

1. This Order may be cited as the Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999 (Commencement No. 11) Order 2001.

Appointed day

2. 23rd April 2001 is the day appointed for the coming into force of—

(a) section 17 of the Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999 (compensating occupational pension schemes) so far as not already in force;

(b) in Part I of Schedule 13 to that Act (repeals—miscellaneous pensions provisions), the repeal in section 83(3)(a) of the Pensions Act 1995 (amount of compensation payment)( 2 ); and

(c) section 88 of that Act so far as it relates to that repeal.
