The Defence Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2 of the Armed Forces Act 1966( 1 ), hereby make the following Regulations:β€”

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Royal Marines Terms of Service (Amendment) Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 1st June 2001.

Amendments to Regulations

2. β€”(1)The Royal Marines Terms of Service Regulations 1988( 2 ) shall be amended in accordance with the following provisions of this regulation.

(2) In regulation 6(2) (change in terms of enlistment) there shall be omitted the words β€œor from the relevant date, whichever is the later”.

(3) In regulation 7(2) (right to transfer to the reserve) there shall be omitted the words β€œβ€”(a) the relevant date or (b)” and β€œ, whichever is the later”.
