The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 168(4)(b), 402(1)(b) and 417(1)( 1 ) of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000( 2 ) (“the Act”), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Regulations Relating to Money Laundering) Regulations 2001 and come into force on 18th June 2001.

2. The Money Laundering Regulations 1993( 3 ) are prescribed for the purposes of section 168(4)(b) and section 402(1)(b) of the Act.
