The Damages (Personal Injury) Order 2001

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 1 of the Damages Act 1996( 1 ), having consulted the Government Actuary and the Treasury in accordance with section 1(4) of that Act, makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Damages (Personal Injury) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 28th June 2001.

2. The rate of return referred to in section 1(1) of the Damages Act 1996 shall be 2.5 per cent.
