INVESTIGATORY POWERS

The Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2001

In exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 83(2) of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000( 1 ), the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2001.

(2) In this Order, “the Act” means the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.

2. Sections 71 and 72 of the Act (codes of practice), to the extent that they relate to Chapter II of Part I of the Act (acquisition and disclosure of communications data), shall come into force on 13th August 2001.
