Whereas the Secretary of State took steps to initiate a review under the Validation, Implementation and Review section of the Belfast Agreement, as required by section 2(1) of the Northern Ireland Act 2000( 1 ), and has taken into account the result of that review;
And whereas the Secretary of State considers it expedient for this Order to be made without a draft thereof having been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament;
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 2(2) of the Northern Ireland Act 2000, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Northern Ireland Act 2000 (Restoration of Devolved Government) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 12th August 2001.
2. Section 1 of the Northern Ireland Act 2000 shall cease to have effect on 12th August 2001.
3. The Northern Ireland Act 2000 (Suspension of Devolved Government) Order 2001( 2 ) is hereby revoked.
