The Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2001

In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 138(2) of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001( 1 ), the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2001.

(2) In this Order, “the 2001 Act” means the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001.

2. The following provisions of the 2001 Act shall come into force on 1st October 2001:

(a) sections 71 and 72 (arrestable offences);

(b) section 97 (regulations for police forces), except paragraph (a) of sub section (4);

(c) section 100 (orders and regulations); and

(d) paragraph 26 of Schedule 2 (amendment to Financial Services and Markets Act 2000)( 2 ).
