The Care Standards Act 2000 (Commencement No. 8) (England) Order 2001

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 122 of the Care Standards Act 2000( 1 ) and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation, interpretation and extent

1. โ€”(1) This Order may be cited as the Care Standards Act 2000 (Commencement No. 8) (England) Order 2001.

(2) In this Order, โ€œthe Actโ€ means the Care Standards Act 2000.

(3) This Order extends to England only.

Appointed day

2. 4th October 2001 is the day appointed for the coming into force ofโ€”

(a) section 112 of the Act (charges for local authority welfare services);

(b) section 117(2) of, and Schedule 6 to, the Act (transitional provisions, savings and repeals), in so far as they relate to section 18(1) and (3) of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970( 2 ).
