The Education (The Arts Institute at Bournemouth Further Education Corporation) (Transfer to the Higher Education Sector) Order 2001

Whereas it appears to the Secretary of State that the full-time equivalent enrolment number of the institution conducted by The Arts Institute at Bournemouth Further Education Corporation( 1 ) for courses of higher education exceeds 55 per cent of its total full-time equivalent enrolment number;

Now therefore the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 122A of the Education Reform Act 1988( 2 ), hereby makes the following order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Education (The Arts Institute at Bournemouth Further Education Corporation) (Transfer to the Higher Education Sector) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 1st August 2001.

2. On the date on which this Order comes into force The Arts Institute at Bournemouth Further Education Corporation shall cease to be a further education corporation and shall become a higher education corporation.

Incorporated under section 15 of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 (c. 13) by S.I. 1992/2097 , under its former name of “Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design”. Its name was changed on 1st May 1998 with the consent of the Secretary of State, pursuant to S.I. 1992/1963 .
