Whereas the Secretary of State has granted to Midlands Electricity PLC on 13th September 2001 a licence (“the Licence”) under section 7 of the Telecommunications Act 1984( 1 ) (“the Act”), to which section 8 of the Act applies, for the running of the telecommunication systems specified in the Licence (“the Applicable Systems”):

Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by section 9 of the Act, hereby makes the following order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Public Telecommunication System Designation (Midlands Electricity PLC) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 4th January 2002.

2. Each of the Applicable Systems is hereby designated as a public telecommunication system.
