The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (Modification) Order 2001

The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Whereas a draft of this Order has been laid before Parliament on the recommendation of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs and has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament:

Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 2(2) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971( 1 ), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (Modification) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 1st February 2002.

2. —(1)Schedule 2 to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971( 2 ) (which specifies the drugs which are subject to control under that Act) shall be amended as follows.

(2) After sub-paragraph (b) of paragraph 1 of Part I of that Schedule there shall be inserted the following sub-paragraph—

(ba) the following phenethylamine derivatives, namely:—

(3) In paragraph 1(a) of Part II of that Schedule after the word “Methylamphetamine” there shall be inserted the word “ α -Methylphenethylhydroxylamine;”.
