The Medicines (Pharmacies) (Applications for Registration and Fees) Amendment Regulations 2001

As respects England, Scotland and Wales, the Secretary of State concerned with health in England and, as respects Northern Ireland, the Minister of Health, Social Services and Public Safety, acting jointly as the Health Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 75(1), 76(1), (2) and (6) and 129(5) of the Medicines Act 1968( 1 ) or, as the case may be, those conferred by those provisions and now vested in them ( 2 ), and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, after consulting such organisations as appear to them to be representative of interests likely to be substantially affected by these Regulations, pursuant to section 129(6) of that Act, hereby make the following Regulations:—

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Medicines (Pharmacies) (Applications for Registration and Fees) Amendment Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 1st January 2002.

Amendment of the Medicines (Pharmacies) (Applications for Registration and Fees) Regulations 1973

2. In regulation 3 of the Medicines (Pharmacies) (Applications for Registration and Fees) Regulations 1973( 3 ) (fees)—

(a) in paragraph (1) (fee for registration of premises), for “£143” substitute “£150” and for “£77” (fee where premises are in Northern Ireland) substitute “£80”;

(b) in paragraph (2) (retention fee), for “£92” substitute “£97” and for “£72” (fee where premises are in Northern Ireland) substitute “£82”;

(c ) in paragraph (3) (additional sum by way of penalty), for “£295” substitute “£310” and for “£219” (sum where premises are in Northern Ireland) substitute “£230”.

Revocation

3.The Medicines (Pharmacies) (Applications for Registration and Fees) Amendment Regulations 2000( 4 ) are revoked.
