Whereas the Local Education Authority–School Relations Code of Practice was laid in draft before each House of Parliament in accordance with section 127(3) and section 85(3) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998( 1 ) on 8th January 2001 and neither House has resolved not to approve the draft;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 85(5) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998, the Secretary of State for Education and Employment hereby makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Education Authority–School Relations Code of Practice Order 2001 and shall come into force on 16th February 2001.

2. The Code of Practice on Local Education Authority–School Relations under section 127 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 issued by the Secretary of State in the form of the draft and under DfEE Number 0027/2001 shall come into force on 16th February 2001.
