The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 76(2) and 146 of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996( 1 ) and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation, commencement and extent

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Disabled Facilities Grants and Home Repair Assistance (Maximum Amounts) (Amendment) (England) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 2nd April 2001.

(2) This Order extends to England only.

Amendment of Order

2. The Disabled Facilities Grants and Home Repair Assistance (Maximum Amounts) Order 1996( 2 ) is amended in accordance with the following paragraphs.

Home repair assistance—maximum amount for one application

3. In Article 4—

(a) delete “Subject to article 5”; and

(b) in paragraphs (a) and (b)(ii), for “£2,000” substitute “£5,000”.

Home Repair Assistance: maximum amount in any three year period

4. Article 5 is revoked.
