JUSTICES OF THE PEACE, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Petty Sessions Areas (Amendment) Order 2001

Made

5th March 2001

Coming into force in accordance with article 1

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 4 of the Justices of the Peace Act 1997( 1 ), makes the following Order:

Citation, commencement and interpretation

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Petty Sessions Areas (Amendment) Order 2001 and shall come into force for the purposes of article 3 on 31st March 2002 and for all other purposes on 1st April 2001.

(2) In this Order “the 1999 Order” means the Petty Sessions Areas Order 1999( 2 ).

Petty sessions areas

2. For the Schedule to the 1999 Order there shall be substituted the Schedule to this Order.

3. For the entries in column 1 of Part I of the Schedule to the 1999 Order as substituted by this Order opposite the entry “HUMBERSIDE” in column 2, there shall be substituted—

Section 30A(2) of the Justices of the Peace Act 1997 (c. 25) (inserted by section 83(1) of the Access to Justice Act 1999 (c. 22) ) provides that the Greater London Magistrates' Courts Authority shall become the magistrates' courts committee for Greater London. Section 30A(2) comes into force on 1st April 2001.
