The Weights and Measures (Metrication Amendments) Regulations 2001

M1 The Secretary of State, in exercise of his powers under sections 15(1) and 94(1) of the Weights and Measures Act 1985 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Weights and Measures (Metrication Amendments) Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 8th February 2001.

2. On the coming into force of these Regulations, the Regulations specified in the Schedule to these Regulations shall be amended in the manner specified in regulation 3(1) below.

3. —(1) In respect of each of the Regulations listed in the Schedule, after the words “supplementary indication” or “supplementary indications” where those words appear for the first time in each of the regulations specified, there shall be inserted the words “ up to and including 31st December 2009 ” .

M2 (2) In the Weighing Equipment (Automatic Gravimetric Filling Instruments) Regulations 2000 , after regulation 6 there shall be inserted—

6A. Where the indication of the exact quantity of material a filling instrument purports to weigh is given in metric units of measurement that indication may also be given by means of a supplementary indication up to and including 31st December 2009. .
