PROFESSIONS SUPPLEMENTARY TO MEDICINE

The Professions Supplementary to Medicine (Registration Rules) (Amendment) Order of Council 2001

By the Lords of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council

WHEREAS in pursuance of section 2(3) of the Professions Supplementary to Medicine Act 1960( 1 ) the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine has made rules entitled “The Registration (Amendment) Rules 2000”:

AND WHEREAS such rules shall not come into force until confirmed by Order of the Privy Council:

NOW, THEREFORE, Their Lordships, having taken these rules into consideration, are hereby pleased to confirm them as set out in the Schedule to this Order.

This Order may be cited as the Professions Supplementary to Medicine (Registration Rules) (Amendment) Order of Council 2001.

SCHEDULE PROFESSIONS SUPPLEMENTARY TO MEDICINE THE REGISTRATION (AMENDMENT) RULES 2000

The Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine, in exercise of its powers under section 2 of the Professions Supplementary to Medicine Act 1960( 2 ), hereby makes the following rules:—

1. These rules may be cited as the Registration (Amendment) Rules 2000.

2. The Registration Rules 1962 (scheduled to the Professions Supplementary to Medicine (Registration Rules) Order of Council 1962( 3 ), and as subsequently amended) shall be further amended as follows:—

(i) in rule 16(i), after “31st July 1967” there shall be inserted “the Paramedics Board before the 31st August 2000”; and after “30th September 1998” there shall be inserted “the Clinical Scientists Board before the 30th September 2000, the Speech & Language Therapists Board before the 30th September 2000”.

(ii) in the Schedule, after the entry relating to “Orthoptists”, the following entries shall be inserted in the columns indicated:—

1st July Paramedics 31st August and after the entry relating to “Prosthetists-Orthotists”, the following entries shall be inserted in the columns indicated:—

1st August Clinical Scientists 30th September
1st August Speech & Language Therapists 30th September
