The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 28 and 420(1) of the Greater London Authority Act 1999( 1 ), sections 50(1) and 105(2), (3) and (4) of the Local Government Act 2000( 2 ) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation, commencement and application
1. โ(1) This Order may be cited as the Greater London Authority (Declaration of Acceptance of Office) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 6th May 2002.
(2) This Order applies to the Greater London Authority only.
Form of declaration of acceptance of office
2. The declaration of acceptance of the office ofโ
(a) Mayor;
(b) Assembly member; and
(c) acting Mayor by virtue of being Deputy mayor,
shall be in the form in the Schedule to this Order or a form to the like effect.
Revocation of the Greater London Authority (Elections and Acceptance of Office) Order 2000
3.The Greater London Authority (Elections and Acceptance of Office) Order 2000( 3 ) shall be revoked.
Amendment to the Local Authorities (Model Code of Conduct) (England) Order 2001
4. โ(1) In article 4(1) of the Local Authorities (Model Code of Conduct) (England) Order 2001( 4 ), sub-paragraph (g) shall be omitted.
