The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, in exercise of his power under section 1(1)(b) of the Radioactive Material (Road Transport) Act 1991( 1 ), hereby makes the following Order:—

Citation and Commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Radioactive Material (Road Transport) (Definition of Radioactive Material) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 7th June 2002.

Specific activity—definition of radioactive material

2. 0.1 kilobecquerels per kilogram is specified as the specific activity for the purposes of section 1(1) of the Radioactive Material (Road Transport) Act 1991(definition of “radioactive material”).
