In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 14(6) of the Football Spectators Act 1989( 1 ), the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Football Spectators (World Cup Control Period) (No. 2) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 15th May 2002.

2. The Football Spectators (World Cup Control Period) Order 2002( 2 ) is hereby revoked.

3. —(1) In relation to the external tournament known as the 2002 FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Associations) World Cup Korea/Japan, the period described in paragraph (2) below is a control period for the purposes of Part II of the Football Spectators Act 1989.

(2) The period referred to in paragraph (1) above is the period beginning on 26th May 2002, being five days before the day of the first football match which is included in the tournament, and ending when the last match included in the tournament is finished (which, subject to postponement, is due to be on 30th June 2002) or cancelled.
