The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by paragraph 11 of Schedule 3 to the Police Act 1996( 1 ) hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation, commencement and extent

1. β€”(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Police Authorities (Selection Panel) (Amendment) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 10th June 2002.

(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales only.

Interpretation

2. In these Regulations β€œthe 1994 Regulations” means the Police Authorities (Selection Panel) Regulations 1994( 2 ).

Amendments to the 1994 Regulations

3. In regulation 4(2)(d)(i) of the 1994 Regulations the words β€œand (except in the case of the Metropolitan Police Authority) under 70” shall be omitted.

4. In regulation 6(5) of the 1994 Regulations the following sub-paragraph shall be inserted in the appropriate place:

β€œ (ba) the member of the panel who is not present has died; or ” .
