The Lord Chancellor and, in relation to any judicial office whose jurisdiction is exercised exclusively in relation to Scotland, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 1(8) of the Judicial Pensions and Retirement Act 1993( 1 ), make the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Judicial Pensions (Pensions Appeal Tribunals) Order 2002, and shall come into force on 7th June 2002.

2. This Order shall apply only in relation to judicial officers who begin to serve in the office of Deputy President of any of the pensions appeal tribunals on or after 7th June 2002.

3. In Part II of Schedule 1 to the Judicial Pensions and Retirement Act 1993 , in the entry relating to the President of the pensions appeal tribunals, after “President” there shall be inserted “or Deputy President”.
