The Dentists Act 1984 (Dental Auxiliaries) Order 2002

Coming into force in accordance with article 1

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 22nd day of May 2002

Present,

The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Whereas a draft of this Order has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament, pursuant to section 46(5) of the Dentists Act 1984( 1 );

Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 46(4)(a) of that Act and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Dentists Act 1984 (Dental Auxiliaries) Order 2002 and shall come into force on the day after that on which it is made.

Application of section 46 of the Dentists Act 1984

2. Section 46(1)(b) of the Dentists Act 1984 shall cease to have effect in relation to dental therapists.
