The Protection of Children Act 1999 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2002

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 14(2) of the Protection of Children Act 1999( 1 ), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—

Citation and extent

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Protection of Children Act 1999 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2002.

(2) This Order extends to England and Wales.

Appointed day

2. 12th March 2002 is the day appointed for the coming into force of section 8 (searches of both lists under Part V of Police Act 1997) of the Protection of Children Act 1999.
