The Local Government Commission for England (Winding-up) Order 2002

The Secretary of State, being satisfied that the Local Government Commission for England( 1 ) has no further functions to perform, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 18(6) and 156(5)(a) of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000( 2 ) hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Commission for England (Winding-up) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 1st August 2002.

Winding up

2. The Secretary of State hereby directs that the Local Government Commission for England shall cease to exist forthwith.

Consequential amendments and repeals

3. The provisions specified in the third column of the table in the Schedule to this Order are hereby repealed.
