The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 144(1) of the Magistrates' Courts Act 1980( 1 ) as extended by section 18(1) of the Maintenance Orders (Reciprocal Enforcement) Act 1972( 2 ), and after consultation with the Rule Committee, appointed under the said section 144(1), makes the following Rules:

1. These Rules may be cited as the Magistrates' Courts (Reciprocal Enforcement of Maintenance Orders) (Amendment) Rules 2002 and shall come into force on 20th August 2002.

2. Schedule 1 to the Magistrates' Courts (Reciprocal Enforcement of Maintenance Orders) Rules 1974( 3 ) shall be amended by inserting after the word “Zimbabwe” the word “Nunavut”.
