Whereas a draft of this Order has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament;

Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1(2) of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001( 1 ), hereby makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 (Amendment) Order 2002 and shall come into force on the 22nd July 2002.

2. In the Table in section 1(1) of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001, after the entry in respect of the Telecommunications Act 1984( 2 ), there is inserted the following entry—

Section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986 (c. 64) Behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress .
