The School Teachers' Remuneration Order 2002

The Secretary of State for Education and Skills, in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by section 5(3) of the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1991( 1 ) hereby makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the School Teachers' Remuneration Order 2002 and shall come into force on 1st September 2002.

2. In this Order—

authority” means a local education authority; and

Excellence Fellowship” means a project agreed by a school and a higher education institution to enable teachers to encourage pupils at the school to undertake higher education courses.

3. For the purposes of the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1991, a personal bonus payment made by a governing body of a school maintained by an authority to a school teacher who undertakes an Excellence Fellowship shall not be regarded as remuneration.
