The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of powers conferred by sections 52(1) and 60(1)(e) of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981( 1 ), and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 61(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Community Bus (Amendment) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 1st November 2002.

Amendment of fee payable for a permit

2. —(1)The Community Bus Regulations 1986( 2 ) shall be amended in accordance with paragraph (2) below.

(2) In regulation 4(1), for “£37” there shall be substituted “£39”.

1981 c. 14 (“the 1981 Act”). Section 52(1) was amended by the Transport Act 1985 (c. 67 , “the 1985 Act”), Schedule 2, Part II, paragraph 4(14) and by the Deregulation and Contracting Out Act 1994 (c. 40 , “the 1994 Act”), section 66. Section 60(1) was amended by the 1985 Act, section 134, and paragraph (e) was substituted by the 1994 Act, section 66(5). Section 61(2) was amended by the 1985 Act, Schedule 8. Section 52 was applied to fees for permits under section 22 of the 1985 Act by section 126(1) of that Act and sections 60 and 61 have effect by virtue of sections 134 and 135 of the 1985 Act as if Part I of the 1985 Act (including section 22) was incorporated in the 1981 Act. For the definition of “prescribed” see section 60(2) of the 1981 Act.
