The Secretary of State for Transport, being a Minister designated( 1 ) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972( 2 ) for the regulation of the type, description, construction or equipment of vehicles, and of components of vehicles, and in particular any vehicle type approval scheme, in exercise of the powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (EC Type Approval) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 27th November 2002.

Amendments to Schedule 1

2. —(1) The Table in Schedule 1 to the Motor Vehicles (EC Type Approval) Regulations 1998( 3 ) shall be further amended by the insertion in the columns specified of the entries specified below.

(2) In item 9 (Braking), there shall be inserted in the third and fourth columns—
