In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 1A(1) and (2) of the Immigration (Carrier’s Liability) Act 1987( 1 ), the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:

Citation, commencement and interpretation

1. This Order may be cited as the Immigration (Transit Visa) (Amendment No. 2) Order 2002.

2. This Order shall come into force on 9th November 2002.

3. In this Order “the 1993 Order” means “ the Immigration (Transit Visa) Order 1993 ”( 2 ).

Amendment of the 1993 Order

4. In the Schedule to the 1993 Order, after “Uganda”, there be inserted “Zimbabwe”.

1987 (c. 24) ; section 1A was inserted by section 12(1) and (3) of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1993 (c. 23) ; section 1A is prospectively repealed by Schedule 16 to the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (c. 33) but the repeal is not yet in force.

S.I. 1993/1678 , amended by S.I. 2000/1381 . There are other amendments to S.I. 1993/1678 that are not relevant to the subject matter of this Order.
